All In Allamakee: Allamakee County’s Comprehensive Plan

Allamakee County is partnering with Upper Explorerland Regional Planning Commission to develop a new comprehensive plan for the County. Dubbed All In Allamakee, or the "All-In Plan" for short, the plan will consider a host of issues related to economic development, housing, transportation, parks, infrastructure, etc., all of which have an impact on residents' quality of life.

The All-In Plan will be in development through the rest of 2018 and much of 2019. During this time there will be several opportunities for residents to get involved. Public meetings will be held in Lansing, Waukon, and Postville where attendees will help create a countywide vision for Allamakee County’s future. Later in the process, topic-specific focus groups will be held to help create goals and strategies to achieve that vision.

Residents and visitors to Allamakee County are invited to complete a very brief questionnaire on how they feel about Allamakee County. We also invite and encourage all residents and visitors of Allamakee County to give input on a broader array of issues in Allamakee County by taking a more detailed survey. Visit the web addresses below to fill out the brief questionnaire and take the survey.

Finally, we invite Twitter and Instagram users to tweet and share photos of everything you love about Allamakee County by using #AllInAllamakee. We may contact you for permission to use your tweet or photo in the final plan!

If you’d like to be added to our contact list so you can be notified of updates and events related to the All-In Plan, and/or if you are interested in being in one of the focus groups, please contact Aaron Detter at adetter@uerpc.org or 563-382-6171.

Transportation Survey

Posted: Wed, July 25, 2018

The development of the Long-Range Transportation Plan (LRTP) for the Region 1 Planning Affiliation (RPA-1) has begun, which includes Allamakee, Clayton, Fayette, Howard, and Winneshiek Counties. The plan considers all modes of transportation and lays out the region’s transportation priorities and goals for the future. We are seeking broad community feedback to help guide the plan’s development.

The online Community Survey for the plan is now available at the link below.

https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/RPA-1_LRTP_Survey

UERPC invites and encourage everyone to take the survey!

The survey is open to anyone who lives in, works in, or visits the five-county area. The broader the distribution of the survey, the better and more complete the feedback will be for the plan. Please feel free to share the survey link with family and friends, as well as through any e-mail lists or social media platforms available to you.

Feel free to contact Aaron at 563-382-6171, ext. 203 with any questions regarding the survey.

Thanks for participating and helping to get the word out!
