Winneshiek County Hazard Mitigation Plan

Hazard mitigation planning is the process through which hazards that threaten communities are identified, likely impacts of those hazards are determined, mitigation goals are set, and appropriate strategies to lessen impacts are determined, prioritized, and implemented.

You are invited to participate in the 5-year update to the Winneshiek County Hazard Mitigation Plan in the coming year.  We need your help weighing local hazards and developing mitigation steps to protect our communities from future risks.  The update will occur between March 2024 and February 2025.

Planning Committee Meeting 1: Hazard Identification

The first meeting of the county Hazard Mitigation Planning Committee will be held on Wednesday April 3rd from 4 – 6 pm, at the Winneshiek County Courthouse Annex (201 W. Main St., Decorah, IA 52101)!

 

Information on the 2025 Winneshiek Co. Hazard Mitigation Plan will continue to be provided here as it becomes available!
